As a Data Scientist Intern, you will deliver analytical solutions using programming, data-mining, statistics, machine learning, and visualization techniques while supporting our mission of advancing patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver analytical solutions including querying databases, data processing, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, and deploying production models.
- Write clean, performant, reusable code to perform repeatable analyses and to train and deploy models.
- Focus primarily on Generative AI and LLM's.
- Create database-to-deployment pipelines for models using necessary programming languages (primarily R, Python, SQL).
- Establish sustainable data science infrastructure and adhere to data analysis and machine learning best practices.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to determine the appropriateness of advanced analytical methods.
- Collaborate with senior or lead data scientists and business partners to identify key areas where data science can deliver value.
- Test and validate code to ensure adaptability of data applications.
Required Qualifications
- Current enrollment in an Undergraduate or Graduate program in Analytics, Data Science, or Computer Science, or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Physics, or a related field.
- Zero (0) to Two (2) years of professional experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industries, preferably with electronic medical record data (e.g., Epic Software).
- Intermediate programming skills using high-level languages such as R or Python (college projects are acceptable).
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in SQL.
- Experience with healthcare machine learning is a plus.
