As a Junior Operational Research Analyst, you will leverage data analytics, tool development, and wargaming support to enhance base resiliency and assist senior decision‐makers. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive analytical support to AFIMSC senior decision‐makers through simulation, optimization, statistical analysis, and decision analysis.
- Develop and refine analytical tools while automating processes using platforms such as Data Fabric, SAS, Tableau, Microsoft Power Platform, Python, and R.
- Support wargaming events—including Futures Game (FG), Long Duration Logistics Wargame (LDLW), and Global Engagement (GE)—with modeling and simulation analysis.
- Manage and analyze government-furnished and public data, ensuring effective visualization and process improvements.
- Perform administrative support tasks such as meeting coordination, minute capturing, report writing, and handling RFIs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Research or Industrial Engineering, or at least 24 semester hours in related quantitative subjects (with a minimum of 3 semester hours in calculus).
- Master’s Degree or a Bachelor’s Degree plus at least 3 years of related experience.
- Located in or able to commute to the San Antonio, TX area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to obtain or already possess a SECRET security clearance (based on an investigation completed within the past 5 years).
- Experience supporting AFIMSC or related defense organizations.
- Proficiency with Data Fabric platforms (Envision, VAULT, Advana, Blade, UDL), simulation software (COTs, SAS, Tableau, Microsoft Power Platform), and open-source coding (Python, R) including tool development with Visual Basic.
- Familiarity with wargaming events such as Futures Game (FG), LDLW, and Global Engagement (GE).
- Demonstrated experience in sustaining and developing analytical tools within a government contracting environment.
- Knowledge of mission support areas in the Air Force, including housing, security forces, environmental management, food services, and more.
