As a Power Electronics Intern (Mechanical Design) at OmniOn Power, you will work with the R&D Engineering team supporting them in the product development and evaluation of new technologies for high-density and high-efficiency power supplies. This is an onsite role based in Location: Plano, Texas. This position reports to: R&D Senior Engineering Manager based in Plano, Texas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the product and technology projects on high-density power supplies
  • Assist in modeling and designing of mechanical components and assemblies, and creating CAD drawings
  • Assist in thermal design
  • Support engineering prototype builds and conduct laboratory tests
  • Present the technical results

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a B.S, M.S or Ph.D. program in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, in the US
  • Must be currently authorized to work
  • Experience in electronics packaging and/or thermal design
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD tools – Creo, SolidWorks, etc.
  • Familiarity with ANSYS Icepak
  • Experience in Windchill and BOM structuring
  • Familiarity with PCB and PCBA, and electrical safety requirements
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in teams
  • Effective communication skills
