Department Overview

Work as part of team that includes Cancer and Blood Disorder physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nursing, social work, physical therapy, nutrition, child life, clinic assistants and researchers.
The department at Children's of Minnesota provides care for children of all ages with all types of malignancies including brain tumors, solid tumors, and leukemia; and blood disorders such as sickle cell disease, bleeding disorders, and anemia. As the largest provider of services for children with cancer and bleeding disorders in the region, the Cancer and Blood Disorders program focuses on providing well-coordinated knowledge-driven clinical care. We participate in national and international research and are leaders in research on supportive care and quality of life for children with cancer and bleeding disorders.
Position Summary
Provides case management and infusions for the pediatric hematology and oncology outpatient population. Responsibilities include psychosocial care of families; education and support to the child and family throughout treatment; telephone triage, work within a multidisciplinary team including outpatient, inpatient and community settings. Participates in the research process including documentation and data collection.
Primary Focus: Oncofertility Program
This position will have a specialized emphasis on developing, coordinating, and advancing our Oncofertility Program within our Adolescent/Young Adult (AYA) program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing oncofertility consultations and individualized patient education, including sexual health education, relevant to treatment.
- Supporting and guiding patients through fertility preservation options, including ovarian tissue cryopreservation and testicular tissue cryopreservation.
- Building and refining processes for patients referred from outside organizations.
- Collaborating and networking with external facilities to ensure timely, evidence‑based fertility preservation care.
- Leading program development initiatives to expand and strengthen oncofertility services.
Additional Responsibilities
- Case management for survivorship and long‑term follow‑up patients one day per week.
- Providing ongoing education, emotional support, and care coordination for children, adolescents, and their families throughout treatment and beyond.
- Working closely with interdisciplinary partners to ensure seamless patient care across care settings.
- Education: 4 year degree BSN/BAN
- Licenses: Current MN RN license.
- Certifications: Current BLS Certification.
- APHON Chemotherapy/biotherapy Certification obtained within 8 weeks of hire.
- CPON preferred.
- 3 years of current Pediatric Hematology Oncology experience preferred.
Salary and Benefits
The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee’s scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
