Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to provide technical support for equipment and systems in the Inspection and Packaging area. This role will focus on equipment optimization, upgrades, repairs, and compliance with industry, regulatory, and FDA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering activities related to equipment optimization, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure maintenance and technical cleaning systems meet CFR, cGMP, SOP, and FDA requirements.
  • Provide technical support for compliance, quality, validation, and process automation issues.
  • Assist during FDA and other regulatory inspections.
  • Perform maintenance activities and monitor plant support equipment.
  • Investigate technical issues under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and assist with equipment/system reliability improvements.
  • Review and interpret P&IDs, utility drawings, process equipment schematics, and architectural layouts.
  • Support operations on non-standard shifts, including weekends and holidays when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment (packaging equipment preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, serialization, packaging equipment, and vision inspection systems (e.g., Cognex, Systech).
