Job Description
Position Overview
As a Licensed Intake Clinician - PRN at Medical City Green Oaks Hospital, you will join a dedicated team committed to providing exceptional psychiatric care. In this role, you will utilize advanced clinical skills and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess patients, determine appropriate care levels, and ensure safe, effective treatment. You will also play an integral part in community outreach and enhancing patient care across a premier healthcare network.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates advanced clinical skills and ability to assess patients to determine appropriate level of care.
- Identifies cultural considerations, gender identity, and preferred language for patients and family.
- Performs comprehensive assessments, maintains timely documentation, and ensures compliance with standards.
- Assesses patient safety and reports/responds to actual and potential safety issues or changes in condition.
- Identifies risk factors, screening criteria, and interventions for patients with special precautions (e.g., suicide, homicide, falls, elopement).
- Responds to unexpected assessment findings and ensures a safe, structured environment using evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Maintains active communication with patients, families, multidisciplinary teams, and continuum of care providers.
- Provides education and guidance regarding state commitment processes, abuse reporting, duty to warn, and guardianship procedures.
- Collaborates on complex discharge planning and maintains a community resource guide for public assistance alternatives.
- Facilitates and participates in community education, support groups, and post-discharge follow-up as indicated.
- Assists with process and quality improvement initiatives and delivers care based on accepted standards.
- Maintains professionalism, clear communication, and appropriate boundaries with colleagues, patients, and families.
- Acts as an educational resource regarding behavioral services and performs utilization review as assigned.
- Participates in developing department goals/objectives, clinical programming, and training new staff/interns.
- Demonstrates knowledge in hospital codes and adheres to all hospital and department policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Master’s Degree required.
- Professional credentials as applicable: (LCSW) Clinical Social Worker, (LPC/LMHC) Licensed Professional/Mental Health Counselor, (LMFT) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, (LMSW/RCSW-I) Licensed Master Social Worker/Reg Clin SW-Intern, or (LPC-A/MHCI) Licensed Professional Counselor Associate/Mental Health Intern.
