Financial Designs Ltd. (FDL) is seeking a full-time Director of Human Resources/Finance. The position will be overseeing all business operations. The Director of HR/Finance will report to the President, and this role will be based on-site in Denver, CO. This is not a remote or hybrid position — Denver-based only. Relocations Welcome — Must Be Willing to Relocate to the Denver Area at Own Expense.
FDL is a boutique privately held firm based in Denver, Colorado with a nationwide client base. FDL is a recognized leader in wealth transfer and insurance planning for multi-generational wealth and business planning for owners and key executives. The firm was founded over 55 years ago and has more than $6.0 Billion of Life Insurance In-Force. The firm has a team of 20 people and requires leadership, problem-solving and oversight for day-to-day operations.
Core Responsibilities:
- Operations - Oversee operations of FDL to keep the business relevant, cost efficient and high performing and current in HR, business applications and technology.
- Human Resources – Employee Recruiting and Retention, Payroll, Administrator for 401(k) Plan and Health Benefits, Legal compliance, Business Insurance matters. Manage operations while maintaining a positive culture of mutual trust and respect.
- Financial Operations– Assist in developing annual budgets and monitor expenses to ensure financial compliance and stability. Maintain general ledgers perform monthly reconciliation, manage accounts payable/receivables. Prepare Monthly Financial Reports.
- Entity matters – Oversee Business Insurance, and Space Facility needs.
Qualifications:
Experience: 10 years of proven experience in a Leadership role with overseeing and managing operational functions ideally within a professional services operation.
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to interpret financial reports and assess data effectively.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication abilities
- Experience in human resources operations, including employee benefits management, is a plus
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or equivalent college degree.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll and accounting software (e.g. ADP, QuickBooks). Understanding of Cybersecurity controls.
Compliance Knowledge: In depth knowledge of employment labor laws and GAAP accounting principles.

Compensation Benefits:

Salary Range $100,000 to $120,000 annually depending on skills, experience and qualifications.
