Position Overview

With YORK® Chiller Solutions from Johnson Controls, we help you respond to your building efficiency needs by providing the widest variety water and air-cooled industrial and commercial chillers on the market. From reducing your facility's carbon footprint, to delivering a healthier indoor environment and cutting energy costs, we build smaller, more energy efficient chillers tailored to fit almost any comfort or process cooling application - even heating. Our Mechanical Engineer is responsible for developing engineered solutions to complex problems and improvements to existing designs! We would like you to collaborate with marketing, other intercompany engineering groups, and manufacturing. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate engineering documentation and other technical documents
  • Follow established processes and procedures
  • Complete projects on schedule
  • Translate product design requirements into a recommended solution
  • Learn system requirements for mechanical systems on the equipment and the equipment applications
  • Process Sales Orders
  • Edit Sales Order and lower-level Bill of Material (BOM)
  • Generate Engineering Change notices when required
  • Support manufacturing with issues as they arise
  • Consider manufacturing and services implications in defining design solutions
  • Prepares complex and non-routine sketches and drawings for drafting
  • Prepares design documents, e.g., panel diagrams

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Previous engineering work experience or internship
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with user, development, and support groups
  • Good written and oral communications, interpersonal, and time leadership skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations
  • Ability to perform theoretical reasoning in the support, creation, and design of sophisticated systems
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks, Inventor or similar software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience with Creo
  • Knowledge of engineering change notices
