Job Description
Position Overview
Become a Medical Scribe with Scribe-X, where you gain unparalleled clinical experience and preparation for medical school – all from the comfort of your home. As a Medical Scribe, you will work side-by-side with healthcare providers to document patient encounters in real-time. In this role you receive extensive paid training on EMR systems and patient documentation procedures, develop professional mentorships, and earn patient contact hours with opportunities for recommendation letters.
Compensation is competitive: $11/hour for no scribe experience, $12/hour for 6+ months of experience, and $14-17/hour for lead scribes (1+ year required), plus an additional $1/hour for fluent Spanish speakers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform chart preparation per clinic protocol
- Accompany the provider in all scheduled patient visits
- Document patient history, physical exam, procedures, and patient plans as performed by the provider
- Remind the provider of relevant quality metrics and document accordingly
- Enter laboratory, radiographic studies, and medication orders as dictated by the provider
- Print instructions for patients and review completed charts with the provider
- Update provider and clinic preference documents as needed
Required Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written English skills
- Strong computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new software systems
- Healthcare background (e.g. pre-med, pre-PA, pre-nursing) is an advantage
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred (with a GPA of 3.00 or greater) or 1+ years of full-time scribe experience in lieu of a degree
- Minimum typing speed of 60 WPM
