Job Description

Position Overview

Join Concentric, a global risk consultancy known for its strategic security and intelligence services. We are seeking a highly experienced, discreet, and strategic Chief of Security (Executive Protection & Global Operations) to safeguard an entrepreneurial Tech CEO with a high-visibility global lifestyle. You will serve as the CEO’s trusted security advisor while managing hands-on executive protection, overseeing comprehensive security measures, and coordinating extensive international and domestic travel. This role offers remote work arrangements from within the United States, with the requirement to be located within a 2–3 hour direct flight of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide armed close protection to the CEO during travel, public/media appearances, and personal engagements both domestically and internationally.
  • Lead and manage the CEO’s comprehensive security strategy including threat intelligence, situational awareness, and emergency response.
  • Conduct advance work and site assessments for events and locations, ensuring secure transportation and contingency planning.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders, venue security teams, corporate groups, and local law enforcement to ensure seamless protective coverage.
  • Continuously monitor global threat landscapes and provide real-time intelligence and risk updates.
  • Audit security and threat measures at residential and commercial properties and implement improvements.
  • Manage third-party or contract security personnel as needed while ensuring adherence to local and international regulations.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and operations teams to protect both physical and digital vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain the highest levels of discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.

Required Qualifications

  • 8–15+ years of experience in executive protection, special operations, federal law enforcement, or intelligence services.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active or previous licensing and legal qualifications to carry and operate a firearm in applicable jurisdictions.
  • Proven experience managing security for ultra-high-net-worth individuals or high-profile principals.
  • Ability to operate effectively in unpredictable, high-pressure environments with rapid deployments and global travel.
  • Expertise in advance planning, route analysis, emergency protocols, and crisis response.
  • Clean background check and driving record with the capability to pass comprehensive investigations.
  • Valid passport and the ability to obtain visas and permits for international travel.
  • Emergency medical training (EMT, TCCC, etc.).
  • Familiarity with private FBO, aviation, and maritime security protocols.
  • Experience operating in Latin America and other high-risk regions.
  • Proficiency with secure communications, travel security tools, and protective technologies.
  • Background working with high-growth tech companies or entrepreneurial leaders.
  • Broad geopolitical awareness, cultural sensitivity, and knowledge of global events.
  • High level of physical fitness with the capability to engage in protective activities.
  • Ability to work with diverse clients while maintaining confidentiality and client comfort.
  • Calm, confident, and composed demeanor in unpredictable situations.
  • Highly adaptable, solutions-focused, loyal, discreet, and trustworthy.
  • Strategic yet hands-on with a proactive and resourceful approach.
  • High situational awareness combined with physical and mental resilience.
  • Flexibility to work a variable schedule—including weekends and non-traditional hours—with travel exceeding 50%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Security Certifications such as Executive Protection Institute (EPI), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), or equivalent credentials.
  • Elite military or federal background with documented leadership roles in high-stakes protective operations.
  • Additional language proficiency beyond Spanish and English, such as Portuguese.
  • Advanced medical training (e.g., Paramedic certification, Combat Medic training, or Wilderness First Aid) beyond basic EMT requirements.
  • Expertise in technology and cybersecurity, including digital security protocols, surveillance detection, and electronic countermeasures.
  • An Executive MBA or advanced degree in business administration, international relations, or security management.
  • Experience in aviation security, including coordination of private aircraft operations and international flight planning.
  • Crisis Management Certification from organizations such as FEMA or equivalent international institutions.
