Position Overview

The County of Fresno is offering a rewarding and challenging career opportunity for an experienced information technology professional as the Director of Information Technology / Chief Information Officer. This key leadership role, reporting to the County Administrative Officer, is ideal for someone passionate about driving innovation and making a meaningful impact in a dynamic organization.

Compensation: $192,322.00 - $245,466.00 Annually

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate strategic objectives and policies that align with the Department’s mission.
  • Provide administrative direction to department managers regarding IT operations.
  • Oversee the planning, acquisition, design, development, and maintenance of IT services and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local orders, including COVID-19 protocols.
  • Drive innovation and effective management within a comprehensive IT environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of full-time, paid managerial work experience including supervision of IT staff; a Master's degree may substitute for one year of required experience.
  • Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license (or equivalent) may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain FBI and DOJ clearance as a condition of employment.
