Job Description

Position Overview

The main purpose of this position is to plan, manage, and conduct annual industry and occupational employment projections. It also involves managing and updating labor market information (LMI) databases for the Department of Labor, as well as performing ad hoc analyses with guidance from the Chief Economist and the Bureau of Labor Statistics Administrator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, and conduct annual industry and occupational employment projections.
  • Manage and update labor market information (LMI) databases for the Department of Labor.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses with guidance from the Chief Economist and BLS Administrator.
  • Write detailed reports for each projection cycle.
  • Provide input, guidance, and support to LMI team members on data sources, statistical techniques, and database management.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Six years of administrative staff or professional work experience (substitution options available for candidates with post-secondary education or relevant military service).
  • 1 year of experience with data analysis or database management in a professional or academic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year experience in programming.
  • 1 year experience in database management.
  • 1 year experience in data security.
  • Familiarity with Bureau of Labor Statistics data.
