Field Service Technician - Low Voltage Security (Tampa/Brandon)

The Service Technician role is responsible for repairing physical security systems and Internet/Network connectivity related to those systems, diagnosing and repairing onsite hardware and software involving Access Control Systems, Video Systems (analog and IP), Security Alarm Systems, and other low voltage electronics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in physical security systems, relays, low voltage, networking, and information technology, with excellent customer relationship skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair physical security systems at customer locations efficiently to restore full functionality.
- Perform preventative maintenance as required by service and maintenance contracts.
- Troubleshoot issues remotely utilizing provided software and an internet connection.
- Travel to customer locations throughout Florida on a day-to-day basis.
- Be available on-call for emergency service rotation at least 2 weeks per month.
- Work independently to research and resolve equipment issues and assist with special projects or additional technical support as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience Required: Minimum 3 years' experience in a related position/field.
- Electrical background with knowledge of electrical materials.
- Low voltage experience including relays, loops, and inputs/outputs.
- Ability to diagnose and repair physical security systems and perform preventative maintenance.
- Capability to troubleshoot issues remotely using provided software tools.
- Strong ability to read schematics and understand relay logic.
- Must have valid driver's license, pass a background check and drug screening, and be able to travel daily throughout Florida.
- Must be able to work independently and within a team environment, and work in harsh outdoor environments (including ladder climbing and lifting up to 75 lbs).
- Must have video security systems and camera installation experience, with familiarity in NVRs, analytics, Microsoft Windows, and LAN systems.
- Experience in low voltage systems installation and servicing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Qualifications: Associate's Degree in computer networking or a similar field is preferred.
- Qualifications: 2-3 years of computer networking and access control experience is a plus.
- Qualifications: Gate service experience is a plus.
- Qualifications: Knowledge or experience in CCTV, Access Control, Security Systems, Networking, and Programming is a plus.
