Position Overview
About the role: Every day, the donors you meet will motivate you as the high‐quality plasma you collect becomes life‐changing medicine. Reporting to the Plasma Center Manager, you will serve as a plasma donor screener and perform phlebotomy to support plasma center operations. Location: USA – CA – Stockton. This role requires that you hold one of the following current/active certifications: California Certified Phlebotomy Technician 1 (CPT1), Certified Phlebotomy Technician 2 (CPT2), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
Key Responsibilities
- Answer phones, greet donors, and ensure the safety of both donors and team members.
- Screen new and repeat donors; take and record donor vital signs and finger stick results.
- Utilize the Donor Information System to prepare donor charts, maintain accurate records, and coordinate donor compensation.
- Identify operational opportunities for continuous improvement and implement approved process changes.
- Work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to walk or stand for the entire work shift and work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical capability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, reach above shoulders and below knees; lift up to 5 lbs frequently and materials up to 32 lbs (occasionally 50 lbs).
- Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and the ability to hear equipment from a distance.
- Experience with prolonged glove wear due to potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
- At least 1 year of experience in a customer or patient facing role is helpful.
