Position Overview
Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) Bloomington, a sand casting foundry specializing in complex aerospace and defense products, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Project Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will plan, coordinate, and manage capital manufacturing projects from budgeting and estimating through design, project management, and completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities
- Review all specifications and drawings.
- Attend pre-bid meetings to define scope, schedule, and estimation requirements.
- Confer with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to negotiate costs and leverage local expertise.
- Solicit material and subcontractor quotations and prepare detailed proposals.
- Develop project plans from estimates, defining tasks, schedules, and personnel requirements.
- Maintain equipment and facility documentation/drawings.
- Communicate with Operations teams and vendors regarding equipment issues and capital projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors and vendors throughout the planning, engineering, and testing phases (FAT and SAT).
- Coordinate resources, schedules, and deliverables across departments, leading cross-functional teams.
- Manage quotations and change orders in collaboration with the project team and department managers.
- Conduct post-project reviews and ensure a formal handoff upon completion.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with safety, DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies.
- Ensure proper project documentation and adhere to ITAR requirements.
- Participate in special projects as assigned by Management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial Engineering preferred).
- Minimum 2+ years of project management experience and 2+ years in a machine building environment.
- Familiarity with Environment Protection Agency and Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, CMMS, and AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively at the Bloomington facility and in cross-functional teams.
