Senior Data Engineer – Snowflake & Databricks (Onsite – San Jose, CA)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in Snowflake and Databricks. The ideal candidate will architect and optimize large-scale data pipelines, design enterprise data systems, and ensure robust data quality, lineage, and governance. This contract role is onsite in San Jose, California, and is open to US Citizens, Green Card Holders, H4EAD, L2EAD, H1B holders, and all valid U.S. work visas. Local candidates are preferred, and relocation may be considered based on budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize data pipelines using Snowflake and Databricks.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT workflows for automated data ingestion and transformation.
• Implement scalable and secure data architecture frameworks.
• Perform data modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Dimensional Modeling).
• Administer Snowflake databases, schemas, roles, policies, and user permissions.
• Monitor compute/storage usage and implement cost optimization strategies.
• Establish data lineage, data quality checks, and pipeline monitoring frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership.
• Support reporting teams using Power BI and Sigma Computing.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake and Databricks/Spark.
• Advanced SQL skills for data transformations and automation.
• Deep understanding of data architecture, pipeline design, and data modeling.
• Proven experience with ETL/ELT orchestration.
• Experience with data governance, lineage, observability, and metadata management.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and drive technical initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Azure or AWS.
• Python scripting proficiency.
• Experience working with enterprise clients (Cisco preferred).

Benefits & Perks

• Compensation: $65/hour (C2C or W2) with a pay range of $50.65 - $65.00 per hour.
• Job Type: Contract.
• Expected Hours: 8 per week.
• Work Location: In-person onsite in San Jose, California (5 Days/Week).
