Position Overview

UB Greensfelder is seeking a visionary and strategic Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead our marketing, business development, and communications strategy. Working alongside the leadership team in an Am Law 200 environment—recognized as the 2025 Ohio and Missouri Firm of the Year—the CMO will drive sustainable growth by enhancing our brand reputation and client engagement. This role requires a deep understanding of the legal industry and proven expertise in managing innovative marketing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with firm objectives and targets key client segments.
  • Position the firm as a thought leader by enhancing brand reputation through market analysis and innovative messaging.
  • Oversee business development efforts including client engagement, lead generation, and retention programs.
  • Lead digital marketing and communications initiatives such as SEO, SEM, social media, and content development.
  • Mentor and manage a high-performing team, allocate and monitor the marketing budget, and track ROI with data-driven insights.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, JD, or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in marketing leadership, preferably within the legal industry, with a proven track record in driving business growth and brand awareness.
  • Expertise in digital marketing channels (SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing), public relations, content creation, and event planning.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive and innovative approach with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
