Job Description

Position Overview

As the Vice President of Artist Accounts at The Merch Collective (TMC), you will lead and mentor our Account Management team, driving excellence, strategic client engagement, and revenue growth within the music merchandising industry. Reporting directly to the President, you will serve as an advisor, strategist, and inspirational leader, working in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment’s innovative legacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Actively listen to Account Managers’ perspectives, educate them with the necessary tools, inspire peak performance, foster accountability, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Strategy: Collaborate with Account Managers on client accounts, represent TMC during new business presentations and reviews, analyze historical data, monitor industry trends, and set financial and revenue goals.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain consistent communication with departments such as art, production, tour, retail, and ecommerce. Coordinate weekly meetings with Account Managers to share insights and updates.
  • Quality Control: Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with Account Managers, review pipelines, provide constructive feedback, and ensure performance accountability.
  • Miscellaneous: Oversee quarterly inventory reviews to minimize costs and lead executive team meetings focused on strategic road mapping and goal setting.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of leadership experience and 10+ years in the music merchandising industry.
  • Proven track record in fostering team culture, developing team members, and establishing high performance standards.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present strategic insights and challenging information to stakeholders.
  • Strong multitasking capabilities, delegation skills, and flexibility to manage fast-moving project deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience handling confidential information with superb organizational skills.
  • Willingness to be based in Nashville, TN (preferred), or in LA/NYC with regular travel to Nashville.
