Position Overview
New England Sports Network, Inc. in Massachusetts is seeking a Marketing Manager/Senior Marketing Manager to report to the Director of Marketing & PR. In this role, you will spearhead NESN’s brand and content marketing strategies by executing on- and off-network marketing plans, coordinating campaigns, managing agencies and media planning, and supporting broader growth initiatives. You will lead the coordination and implementation of marketing programs and campaigns, ensuring consistent brand representation across multiple channels while building relationships with NESN personalities, influencers, and external partners. Key Responsibilities
- Establish and implement on- and off-network marketing initiatives in line with the annual operating plan and special projects to promote programming, network tune-in, and branded products.
- Ideate, conceptualize, pitch, and execute marketing campaigns that advance company objectives.
- Track campaign performance, target attainment, and conduct post-campaign recaps.
- Conceptualize and lead event marketing efforts as part of broader marketing plans.
- Serve as the primary contact with external media partners and recommend new media tactics based on industry research.
- Oversee brand representation and consistency of promotional messaging across all mediums.
- Schedule, write, and distribute promotional copy for live reads, newsletters, push notifications, and off-network promotions.
- Lead project management with UI/UX and Creative Services on asset creation and delivery.
- Create and execute social media marketing strategies across NESN brand handles.
- Manage, negotiate, and update off-network ad placements including web, print, outdoor, radio, and TV spots.
- Track ad placements, prepare proof of performance reports, and present campaign learnings and recommendations.
- Oversee asset delivery for digital platforms (e.g., Facebook Ad Manager, Google Ads) including scheduling, copywriting, and reporting.
- Develop and optimize cross-department processes for asset delivery in season marketing and sales activations.
- Communicate strategy and guidance to internal teams regarding promotional spot execution.
- Manage NESN’s promotional inventory with business partners and coordinate asset production.
- Track paid marketing expenditures and provide timely reports to the Director of Marketing & PR.
- Assist the Sales and Affiliate Relations departments in planning, scheduling, and executing client events and promotions.
- Oversee campaigns and activations for the Red Sox, Bruins, and NESN channels.
- Develop and execute influencer branding strategies and serve as the main contact for influencer campaigns.
- Coordinate appearances of NESN talent for influencer and sponsored campaigns at client events.
- Manage network premium merchandise inventory and related activities.
- Complete other related assignments and tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of experience for Manager level or 7+ years for Senior Manager level in designing, implementing, and executing marketing programs, promotions, and targeted campaigns.
- Experience in sports, media organizations, or related entities is a bonus.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to develop compelling, results-oriented copy.
- Experience in athlete relations or player/influencer marketing within talent agencies, professional sports organizations, or creative agencies is a plus.
- Proven ability to work with talent while maintaining confidentiality.
- Background in social media strategy, CRM, and/or performance marketing is a plus.
- Strong collaborative skills and ability to work within a team-oriented environment across departments.
- Ability to work under limited supervision in a high-pressure, loosely structured environment.
- Advanced MS Office skills (particularly Excel) and aptitude for new software applications.
- Willingness to attend events on weekends and evenings as needed.
- Experience with Wide Orbit is a plus.
- Flexibility to travel as required.
