Associate Director, Omnichannel Platforms Architect Lead
Job Description
How We Work - The Global Capability Product Operating Model:
At Jazz, we operate using a modern Global Capability Product Operating Model to shape, deliver, and evolve our digital products. Cross-functional, empowered product teams own outcomes—not just outputs—and work from clear product visions, strategies, and measurable goals. We prioritize user problems, validate solutions through experimentation and data, and iterate quickly to create real value for our users and the business. As part of this model, you’ll collaborate closely with development, design, and stakeholders across the organization, using discovery and delivery practices to ensure we’re building the right things, in the right way, at the right time.
The Omnichannel Platforms Architect Lead is responsible for defining how Jazz's customer engagement platforms are designed and connected across the Omnichannel domain. This role provides technical leadership across the Campaign Orchestration, Content Development & Deployment, Customer Engagement, and Field Solutions suites, ensuring that platforms work together reliably, scale with business needs across the Enterprise, and meet Jazz's security and compliance requirements.
This role serves as the primary technical authority for platform design decisions across the four suites. The position sets shared technical standards, evaluates new technologies, vendors, and guides development teams to ensure platforms are built and evolved in a consistent and well-governed way. The Architect works closely with enterprise technology, data, security, and product teams to build a well-connected platform environment that allows Jazz to deliver personalized and compliant customer engagement experiences across all channels.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Architecture Strategy & Vision
- Own and maintain the long-term global architectural vision for Jazz’s omnichannel platform environment, covering campaign management, marketing automation, customer engagement, field enablement, and the integration layer connecting them.
- Stay current on emerging technologies — including AI-driven personalization, intelligent automation, and real-time decisioning — and evaluate their potential to improve how Jazz's omnichannel platforms work.
- Assess the current technology landscape, identify consolidation and rationalization opportunities, and influence roadmaps to reduce complexity and total cost of ownership.
- Present architectural strategy, trade-offs, and investment recommendations to senior and executive stakeholders, including commercial and technology leadership.
Solution Architecture
- Work with product and business teams across the Omnichannel domain to turn strategy into clear technical plans that guide how platforms are built, connected, and improved over time across all suites.
- Establish and enforce architectural standards across the domain to ensure consistency with enterprise technology direction, security policies, and the regulatory requirements of pharmaceutical commercial operations.
- Define the integration architecture connecting omnichannel platforms with CRM systems, enterprise data platforms, CDPs, and channel activation tools—ensuring consistent, reliable data flows through well-defined APIs and event-driven patterns.
- Work with tech teams in the Data Domain to ensure platform teams are building solutions that are secure, scalable, and meet requirements from the Omnichannel domain.
- Lead architecture reviews and design governance forums across the domain, making final technical decisions on disputed designs and cross-suite integration approaches.
Technical Leadership
- Coach and develop Tech Leads and senior engineers across the Omnichannel domain, raising the overall technical capability of the organization.
- Lead vendor and platform evaluation, selection, and governance—including build-vs-buy analysis—for technologies across the Omnichannel domain.
- Assist development teams in working through complex technical problems and find practical solutions that work across systems.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Technical Skills
- Deep expertise in enterprise customer engagement platform architecture, including marketing automation, campaign orchestration, next-best-action engines, and omnichannel activation systems.
- Hands-on experience with commercial pharma or life sciences platform ecosystems (e.g., Veeva CRM, Veeva Vault, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Experience Platform, IQVIA OCE, or comparable tools).
- Strong background in integration architecture: APIs, event-driven patterns, CDPs, master data management, and real-time data flows across complex platform environments.
- Experience designing and governing connected platform landscapes across multiple product teams in large, complex organizations.
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), modern software development practices, and DevOps/CI-CD pipelines.
- Experience with data architecture patterns relevant to customer engagement: customer data platforms, identity resolution, consent management, and analytics integration.
- Familiarity with AI/ML capabilities as applied to personalization, next-best-action, and intelligent automation in commercial engagement contexts.
- Familiarity with the Product Operating Model and Agile delivery models.
- Understanding of security, compliance, and regulatory requirements relevant to global pharmaceutical commercial operations.
Business Skills
- Proven ability to translate business strategy and product roadmaps into clear, practical architectural approaches that engineering teams can execute against.
- Strong stakeholder management at the senior and executive level—comfortable presenting architectural strategy, trade-offs, and investment recommendations to VPs, CTOs, and commercial leadership.
- Strong ability to work across product, development, and business teams toward shared outcomes.
- Experience working in large organizations where multiple teams and platforms need to stay aligned.
- Sound judgment navigating ambiguity: able to make high-quality technical decisions with incomplete information, manage competing priorities, and clearly communicate trade-offs.
