Position Overview
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Washington State. Are you a recent graduate with some geotechnical/environmental engineering experience? Are you looking for an opportunity to work with senior engineers and scientists on a wide variety of projects? Key Responsibilities
- Work in the field on project sites to perform geotechnical and environmental investigations, and construction monitoring related to earthwork and stormwater.
- Conduct field exploration programs including managing subcontractors.
- Interpret geologic, hydrogeologic, and engineering characteristics of the subsurface.
- Perform geotechnical engineering analysis for infrastructure and development projects such as foundation, retaining wall, and pavement design.
- Oversee soil excavation, demolitions and environmental treatment system installations under the supervision of an experienced CM.
- Conduct office activities including analysis and interpretation of analytical results and preparation of summary reports under the supervision of project managers.
- Learn and stay up-to-date on guidance, state and federal environmental regulations.
- Deliver processed data in an organized fashion, following data management and network standards.
- Participate in training events, project meetings, and engineering team meetings.
- Work and travel safely, following company and site safety standards and maintain permits and training certificates.
- Manage several projects concurrently and maintain successful client relations.
- May require weekend or night work.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering with emphasis on geology, geotechnical, and environmental coursework.
- E.I.T/F.E; or G.I.T. preferred
- 0 to 2 years of practical engineering and field experience.
- Willingness to travel locally on a routine basis, with occasional travel out of the area.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong organizational abilities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Teams), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and/or Bluebeam.
- Must pass a drug test, background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving record per the company's driving (MVR) policy.
