Job Description
Position Overview
Boeing AvionX is seeking a Lead SEIT (Systems Engineering, Integration & Test) Engineer to drive the development and delivery of avionics products for aircraft platforms, emphasizing avionics networking and flight‑critical systems. The successful candidate will work in either Berkeley, MO or Long Beach, CA as part of an expanding team experienced in the integrated V‑model lifecycle across hardware, firmware, and software including MBSE, verification/validation, and certification strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a large team of multi‑skilled SEIT engineers in support of developing and delivering avionics products for aircraft platforms.
- Define and maintain an integrated verification & validation strategy and certification plan addressing HW, firmware, and software in alignment with ARP4754B/ARP4761/DO‑178C/DO‑254/DO‑160/DO‑330 expectations.
- Drive system functional decomposition, allocation, and trade studies.
- Oversee Model Based System Engineering, simulation activities, integration and test procedures ensuring data collection supports post‑analysis activities.
- Guide the analysis, review, and validation of test data to ensure requirements compliance for both hardware and software, including oversight of anomaly resolution and corrective actions.
- Engage with customers and certification authorities through milestone reviews, certification planning, and product transition briefings to executive management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent non‑US qualification directly related to the work.
- Experience with the system engineering development lifecycle (V‑Model).
- Proficiency with Requirements Management Tools (e.g., DOORS) and Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools.
- Experience with software architecture, development processes, and Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
- 14+ years of related systems engineering/avionics development experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various input traffic types such as serial, discrete, and digital interfaces (e.g., ARINC429, ARINC825, ARINC664, RS485, Ethernet).
- Understanding of ARP4754B, ARP4761, DO‑178c, DO‑254, DO‑160, and DO‑330 RTCA recommendations.
- Proven ability to manage tasks to completion within scheduled deadlines, including familiarity with scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
- Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with certification authority interactions (FAA/TC/CASA/EASA).
