Key Responsibilities
- Execute routine testing per NAMSA SOPs, including appropriate data analysis for cytotoxicity and hemocompatibility.
- Strictly adhere to GLP guidelines, ensuring proper documentation, labeling, and material expiration while participating in audits.
- Perform maintenance of cell lines including propagation, cell concentration and viability determination, and preparation of plates for standard testing.
- Conduct sample extraction processes in accordance with ISO, USP and/or JMHLW regulations as specified by study protocol for biocompatibility assays.
- Communicate with external clients regarding particulate observations or abnormalities, and routinely update Study Directors and Quality Assurance on issues or audit findings.
- Operate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment such as incubators, autoclaves, and hoods.
- Prepare media/reagents, maintain reagents/test articles, and manage lab supplies/inventory as required.
- Perform data entry, calculations, analysis, interpretation of results, and escalate any positive or unusual findings to Management or the Study Director.
- Review incoming test articles and paperwork for accuracy, raising any concerns to management or Study Directors.
- Assist Associates with routine test article/product preparations according to work instructions and communicate scheduling updates as needed.
- Maintain ancillary records such as logbooks and worksheets.
- Perform personal gowning, environmental testing, and process submission of organisms from test positives for identification and trend analysis.
- Adhere to established company processes and provide administrative support as needed.
- Prepare and maintain sterile glassware for the In-Vitro lab through washer, autoclave, and depyrogenation oven processing.
- Complete chain of custody documentation for test article tracking.
- Monitor laboratory equipment daily, respond to continuous monitoring alarms per Standard Operating Procedures, and participate in on-call rotations if required.
- Assist in ordering and stocking supplies subject to approval.
- Support training initiatives by assisting trainers or becoming a certified trainer for on-the-job instruction on basic lab tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of relevant laboratory experience preferred.
- Basic mathematical knowledge for performing surface area/volume ratio calculations during sample preparation.
- Bachelor's degree in biology or a related scientific field is required (candidates with sufficient relevant experience may be considered at management's discretion).
