Job Description
Position Overview
Odyssey Systems offers an exciting opportunity for a Space Intel Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to support the US Space Force mission within the Battlespace Intelligence Branch of System Delta 85 (SSC SYD 85/BI). Working on critical systems that provide resilient space capabilities—including Battle Management, Command, Control, Communication, and Space Intelligence (BMC3I)—you will safeguard classified systems and ensure cybersecurity compliance throughout their lifecycles. This full-time role is located at 2424 Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs, CO with an opportunity to telework 1–2 days per week at the Government’s discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads the development, integration, and sustainment of cybersecurity architectures for classified SSC ISR mission systems, incorporating both integrated and inherited architectures from the Intelligence Community.
- Implements and validates RMF controls and CNSSI 1253 requirements across ground, space, and network components.
- Advises system program offices and contractors on cybersecurity design decisions and risk acceptance criteria.
- Conducts risk analyses, vulnerability assessments, and control evaluations for systems supporting national security missions.
- Prepares SSPs, POA&Ms, and authorization documentation under DoDI 8510.01 (RMF) and NIST SP 800-53.
- Coordinates planning for incident response and defensive cyber operations with mission partners to effectively triage, investigate, and remediate cybersecurity incidents.
- Implements continuous monitoring, system patching, and configuration management aligned with DISA STIGs.
- Interprets and tailors DoD, USSF, and Intelligence Community cybersecurity policies for SSC programs.
- Advises leadership on compliance posture, program-level cyber risk trends, and mission assurance impacts.
- Collaborates with engineers, developers, and program managers to embed cybersecurity in acquisition and sustainment activities.
- Occasional travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations upon Government direction.
- Performs additional duties as required/requested by the Government.
Required Qualifications
- US citizenship is required.
- Clearance: DoD TS/SCI clearance, with agreement to a polygraph.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 years’ experience within the Department of Defense, Missile Defense Agency, or Intelligence Community supporting cyber-intelligence, network operations, or information system security.
- At least 2 years of experience managing RMF accreditation, conducting security assessments with technical mitigations, advising program offices on cybersecurity compliance, and coordinating with joint and interagency cybersecurity organizations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Clearance: DoD TS/SCI clearance with a current polygraph.
- Education: Master’s degree or higher in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 8 years’ experience in DoD, MDA, or IC roles related to cyber intelligence, network operations, or information system security.
- Experience with joint intelligence systems and architectures.
- Familiarity with Government and FFRDC risk frameworks, including MITRE's ATT&CK framework.
