Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Express Care Clinic

Position Overview

Join our team at Express Care - Arbor Trails in Austin, TX. This full-time Medical Assistant role in the Express Care Clinic offers an 8-hour day shift, Monday through Friday. You will support healthcare providers in patient examinations, treatments, and clerical duties in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider.
• Support treatments ordered by the provider, performing select clinical duties as supervised by a provider or registered nurse.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, record information on patients' charts, and prepare treatment rooms.
• Perform basic clerical tasks including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
• Order and stock supplies while maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• Document the provider's encounter with patients, listing proper diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and transcribe orders for tests and medications.

Required Qualifications

• • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• • Possess one of the following Medical Assistant credentials (obtained within 6 months/180 days of hire): from the National Healthcareer Association, National Association for Health Professionals, National Center for Competency Testing, American Association of Medical Assistants, or American Medical Technologists (with American Medical Certification (AMCA) also accepted).
• • High School diploma or equivalency, or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience (required professional licensure/certification may be used in lieu of education or experience).

• At least 3-6 months of CMA experience preferred.
