Job Description
Position Overview
This position in the Manufacturing group requires significant training and demonstrated expertise in one or more functional areas. The candidate may be drawn from the pharmaceutical industry or from current employees with documented training and experience. The employee will oversee the work of other Manufacturing team members and be accountable for performance, making independent processing decisions while consulting management on critical issues. The role includes a Weekend shift (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00am to 7:30pm) and interviews are scheduled M-F from 3:00pm to 4:00pm Eastern.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate, and adjust equipment for proper operation and testing to specifications, including troubleshooting automated labeling and bagging machinery.
- Assemble containers and components for the portioning process and perform housekeeping tasks such as disinfection and autoclaving to ensure equipment cleanliness.
- Sign in bulk containers, verify lot numbers, and manage inventory by ordering and stocking necessary supplies while following up on shortages.
- Record tests, measurements, calibrations, calculations, and all relevant data for traceability and accountability.
- Operate and maintain systems including mainframe and SAP updates to ensure smooth production operations.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives by sharing ideas, testing changes, and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel-tied safety shoes.
- Oversee Manufacturing team activities, serve as group lead in the absence of the supervisor, and ensure exemplary attendance and adherence to schedule.
- Maintain cleaned work areas and equipment to assure product integrity, and immediately report any situations that may compromise safety or quality.
Required Qualifications
- Education: HS Diploma, GED, or HSED is required.
- Proficiency in basic math, metric conversions, and understanding of safety rules, FMP, SOPs, UOPs, with a strong mechanical inclination and excellent eye-hand coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to work in clean room/aseptic environments with expertise in equipment preparation, packaging operations, and operation of autoclaves.
- Experience with using hand and air tools, pumps, electronic scales, and material handling equipment.
- Pharma experience (minimum 2 years) is important.
Preferred Qualifications
- College coursework in chemistry is an advantage.
- At least 6 months of previous experience weighing chemicals.
