Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Office Assistant/Patient Care Coordinator (MOA/PCC) to deliver exceptional patient service and support daily operations in a busy medical setting. This role involves greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and maintaining accurate records to ensure smooth clinical operations.
Compensation: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-time
Location: In person
Key Responsibilities:
- Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
- Receive and process medical records.
- Verifying insurance.
- Obtaining prior authorizations for referrals and some diagnostic tests.
- Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and answers or refers inquiries.
- Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, collecting patient charges, controlling credit extended to patients, and expediting third-party claims.
- Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying providers of patient arrival and reviewing service delivery compared to the schedule.
- Comforts patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, and maintaining the reception area.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Maintains business office inventory and equipment by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and scheduling equipment service and repairs.
- Follows policies and procedures to maintain smooth operations and reports needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
