Job Description
Overview
Lanigan & Associates, a regional professional services firm, is seeking a career‑minded entry‑level IT Support Specialist to provide effective, timely, customer‑focused internal technical support. This is a primarily onsite role based in Tallahassee, FL or Thomasville, GA. The position focuses on end‑user support for business applications and devices, with opportunities to learn about our Azure‑centric, networking, and cybersecurity environment through training and collaboration with senior IT staff.
What You’ll Do
- Provide timely Tier I support for internal users, including Windows workstations, Microsoft 365 apps, printing, and common business applications.
- Learn and understand internal business applications and end‑user devices to resolve issues effectively and maintain high user satisfaction.
- Assist with basic account and access tasks (for example, password resets, MFA issues, and group/access changes) following established procedures.
- Document troubleshooting steps and contribute to simple guides or FAQs to improve first‑contact resolution.
- Escalate more complex issues to senior IT staff, clearly documenting actions taken and relevant details.
- Gradually gain familiarity with the firm’s network, server, and cloud environment to provide limited backup support under guidance.
What You’ll Learn / Development
- Build foundational cybersecurity awareness by following established security procedures and participating in basic security‑related tasks.
- Gain exposure to Microsoft 365, Azure, and modern SaaS tools used across the firm.
- Work closely with experienced IT staff who can provide feedback, coaching, and opportunities to take on additional responsibilities as appropriate and as business needs allow.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent: Coursework or a degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred.
- 1–2+ years of experience: On a corporate IT help desk or similar technical support role preferred.
- Familiarity: With Microsoft Windows client systems and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Office apps).
- Comfort: Working in a fast‑paced professional‑services office environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills: Including the ability to explain technical issues to non‑technical users.
- Ability: To research and resolve technical issues with minimal direct supervision and take ownership through to resolution.
- Willingness: To learn from mentors, listen to diverse viewpoints, and maintain an interest in emerging technologies in cloud, security, networking, and general computing.
Work Location
This is an onsite role based in Tallahassee, FL or Thomasville, GA, with 1–2 days per week of local travel between offices and occasional visits to branch locations.
