We dream in over 35 languages and share one mission: to engineer experiences that amaze.
Role Overview
The Product Manager, Innovation for Edge & AI Solutions is responsible for rapidly incubating, validating, and shipping new AI-enabled solutions-taking ideas from concept to real-world deployment within tight, time-boxed cycles (typically 90 days or less).
This role sits within HP's Edge & AI Solutions incubation team, focused on accelerating innovation adjacent to HP's workstation and edge hardware portfolio. The emphasis is on speed, learning, and impact: researching opportunities, defining compelling product bets, prototyping working solutions, and driving evidence-based decisions to either kill, iterate, or commercialize.
Unlike traditional product roles centered on roadmap execution, this role is designed for a highly autonomous product builder-someone who can operate independently or with a small, cross-functional team to move quickly from insight to shipped capability.
While AI-driven innovation is the primary focus, this role will also contribute to select core workflow solutions, applying the same fast-learning, outcome-driven approach to improve existing offerings.
Key responsibilities:
- Rapid Product Incubation & Delivery
- Own end-to-end incubation of new Edge & AI solutions-from opportunity framing and customer discovery through prototype, pilot deployment, and decision point.
- Deliver tangible, working solutions within ~3-month cycles, prioritizing learning and real-world validation over perfection.
- Drive clear kill / iterate / commercialize recommendations based on customer signal, usage data, deployment feedback, and business fit.
- AI-Driven Solution Development
- Identify where AI meaningfully enhances Edge and workstation-class workflows-beyond demos, toward deployable, operational solutions.
- Leverage modern AI capabilities (e.g., agents, openclaw, LLMs, computer vision, automation, copilots) in ways that respect edge-specific constraints such as performance, security, offline operation, and lifecycle management.
- Partner with engineering to prototype pragmatic architectures that balance speed, robustness, and scalability.
- Product Ownership from Idea to Outcome
- Originate ideas based on customer insight, market dynamics, and technology trends-aligned to Edge & AI strategy.
- Define clear problem statements, success metrics, and validation plans before building.
- Own product decisions through pilot deployment, early customer usage, and post-launch learning loops.
- Hands-On Execution & Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, design (when needed), and solution teams to ship minimum-lovable products, not slideware.
- Collaborate across functions (sales, partners, customer teams) to access real deployment contexts and feedback through customer engagements and pilots.
- Contribute directly to basic UX, workflows, and documentation to keep momentum high.
- Learning from Real-World Deployments
- Engage directly with users and customers-observing how solutions perform in real edge environments.
- Capture and synthesize deployment learnings to inform iteration, scaling decisions, and future bets.
- Share insights back into the broader Edge & AI portfolio to influence strategy and prioritization.
Core Outputs
- Incubation Prototypes & Pilots deployed in real or representative Edge environments.
- Validated Product Briefs outlining problem, solution, evidence, tradeoffs, and next-step recommendations.
- Kill / Scale Decisions supported by customer, technical, and business signal.
- Documented Learnings from AI and Edge deployments to inform future innovation efforts.
What Success Looks Like
- New AI-enabled Edge solutions move from concept to real customer validation in weeks-not quarters.
- Clear, confident decisions are made to stop, pivot, or invest further-reducing wasted effort.
- Early pilots demonstrate tangible value tied to core Edge and workstation workflows.
- Innovation efforts strengthen, rather than fragment, the broader Edge & AI portfolio.
- Teams trust the incubation process as a reliable engine for learning and informed bets.
Experience knowledge & skills
- 6+ years of experience in in Product Management or Lead SW Development roles, ideally in solutions-oriented or platform-adjacent environments.
- Proven ability to operate autonomously, managing ambiguity while driving toward concrete outcomes.
- Strong product intuition paired with a bias for validation through real usage and deployment.
- Familiarity and understanding of AI technologies (e.g., openclaw, agents, automation, computer vision, data-driven workflows).
- Understanding of Edge or hardware-adjacent product contexts (performance constraints, deployment complexity, security).
- Comfort working hands-on with prototypes, pilots, and early customers.
- Excellent communication skills, able to synthesize complex learnings into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience incubating or launching "0→1" products or internal ventures.
- Exposure to workstation-class, industrial, or edge deployments.
- Prior work in AI-native products or AI integration within existing workflows.
- Engineering or technical background enabling deep collaboration with development teams.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree: in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related fields.
- MBA: is a plus but not required
The pay range for this role
is $116,150 to $182,400 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
