Job Description

Position Overview

CSEngineering is seeking a Construction Mechanical Engineer for a Future Opportunity to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) at a major medical facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This part-time role provides mechanical systems oversight and technical expertise throughout the construction project while offering the chance to contribute to high-profile healthcare projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide part-time mechanical engineering expertise for HVAC and mechanical systems oversight, including site visits, inspections, mechanical submittal and RFI reviews, QA/QC support, and coordination with the COR, AE, GC, and commissioning agent.
  • Support the project through oversight of HVAC, controls, and cooling systems.
  • Assist the COR with mechanical submittal and RFI reviews, perform scheduled onsite inspections, contribute to pre-construction evaluations, and monitor construction for compliance with mechanical specifications.
  • Lead mechanical QA activities, and assist in schedule, cost, and change management analysis.
  • Support commissioning activities by identifying deficiencies, documenting findings, and providing technical recommendations to ensure compliance with project requirements and healthcare facility standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in HVAC, digital controls, and IT system cooling from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum six (6) years of experience in both design and construction.
  • Demonstrated experience in healthcare and IT projects/facilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
  • Strong communication and computer literacy skills.
  • Must be a United States Citizen.
