Job Description
Position Overview
As a Sales Engineer, you will work with area sales reps on various aspects of the sales process. You will providetechnical assistanceand expertise to software companies looking to embed our clients’ products into their existing applications as well as to developers within our OEM customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing technical support and sales expertise to pre-sales and post-sales situations within a designated sales region
- Formulating technical strategies and tactics for sales in support of Actuate products and services and functioning as an integral part of the sales team
- Providing demonstrations of product set
- Providing ad hoc and custom demonstrations of the Actuate product set
- Presenting technical features and business benefits of the Actuate product set
- Working cooperatively with other members of the OEM team to resolve technically oriented problems and issues
- Understanding customer issues, mapping high-level business issues to the technical solution, and providing a roadmap for the customer’s success
- Responding to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
- Conveying customer requirements to Product Management and Professional Services teams
Required Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Responsive and adaptable in a dynamic, client-oriented organization
- Strong project management skills
- Adept at handling a wide range of problems with diverse scope and complexity
- Willingness to travel to customer, partner, and client sites
- Ability to work independently
