Senior Mechanical Engineer - HVAC & Plumbing Design

Position Overview

Are you passionate about shaping the future of building design through innovative HVAC and plumbing system solutions? TETER is looking for a skilled and driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team and make a meaningful impact in the field of mechanical engineering design.

In this role, you will lead HVAC and plumbing system design projects for a wide range of building types – including commercial, healthcare, educational, and civic facilities – from conceptual design through construction administration. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, driving innovation and elevating the performance of our mechanical engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsibilities: Lead and manage HVAC and plumbing system design projects from start to finish.
• Responsibilities: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to develop innovative, sustainable solutions that exceed expectations.
• Responsibilities: Provide technical guidance to project teams, ensuring excellence at every stage.
• Responsibilities: Oversee the development of detailed construction documents, including system designs, specifications, and drawings.
• Responsibilities: Support construction phase activities – responding to RFIs, conducting site visits, and reviewing submittals.
• Responsibilities: Mentor junior engineers and drafters, fostering growth and professional development.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience Required: 10+ years of experience as a Professional Mechanical Engineer, with a strong focus on HVAC and plumbing system design.
• Qualifications: Current registration as a Mechanical Engineer in the State of California, or the ability to obtain registration within 6 months of hire.
• Qualifications: Expertise in HVAC and plumbing system design, including system layout, equipment selection, load calculations, and code compliance.
• Qualifications: Proven leadership skills and experience managing project teams and resources.
