Job Description
VOLCANIX AUTOMATION is seeking experienced Controls Engineers to support high-speed industrial automation projects across North America. This role involves PLC programming, system commissioning, and integration for advanced manufacturing systems.
Candidates must be comfortable traveling extensively to customer facilities and working in fast-paced production environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA automation systems
- Program and troubleshoot Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, and Mitsubishi PLCs
- Develop and maintain programs using:
- RSLogix / Studio 5000
- TIA Portal
- Configure and support SCADA systems including Ignition
- Commission and debug automated equipment on-site
- Integrate robotics, motion control, and safety systems
- Support customer startups and production launches
- Troubleshoot electrical and controls systems
Required Skills
- Strong experience with PLC programming, experience with:
- Allen Bradley
- Siemens
- Omron
- Mitsubishi
- SCADA and HMI experience
- Experience with Ignition SCADA
- Experience in high-speed automation environments
- Preferred industry experience, working with:
- Automotive OEMs (GM, Tesla, Ford)
- Tier 1 automotive suppliers
- High-speed production lines
Requirements
- Willingness to travel: 90-100%
- Ability to work: on customer sites across North America
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Engineering or technical degree: preferred
- Work Authorization
