Quality Assurance Inspector I (Exp in biotech or pharma, manufacturing) Entry Level (Onsite)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector I with experience in biotech/pharma manufacturing for an entry-level role. This position is located in San Diego, CA and is with a Medical Devices Company. The opportunity is a 6 Months contract (Contract on W2) with a standard work schedule of 40.00 hours/week (training hours: approximately 8:30am–5:00pm, with subsequent flexible start times). Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of bottled products, components, and kits to confirm correct volume, proper label description, appropriate material and batch numbers, and correct storage temperature.
• Review packaging batch records to ensure the correct Technical Data Sheet and any applicable inserts are attached.
• Verify dilution, bottling, and packaging processes to ensure finished products meet specifications before release to Finished Goods Inventory or Inventory Control.
• File QA retention samples in the QA Retention Sample inventory.
• Perform SAP data entry, review and verify batch records, and update raw material supplier documentation.
• Assist in pulling and maintaining QA retention records and perform temperature monitoring of QA freezers.
• Support both external customers and internal teams including Operations, Packaging, Production Planning, Technical Product Managers, and Inventory Control.

Required Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively; excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, email; familiarity with SAP is preferred.
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds and work in various temperature environments (room temperature, 4°C, -20°C, -80°C).
• Ability to travel locally for product inspections at various BD Biosciences - San Diego facilities.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; additional college-level science courses or an AS degree are advantageous.
• Zero to three years of QA inspection experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in inspection within a biotech or pharmaceutical environment.
• Additional quality assurance experience in biotech/pharma industries.
• Prior manufacturing experience in biotech or pharmaceutical settings.
