Takes initial system concept ideas and turns them into fully detailed construction ready designs. - Working on commercial, industrial, and small utility scale energy projects (Solar PV and/or ESS and/or Energy Demand Performance and/or Solar PV Retrofit) for dairy, grower, cold storage and food processing markets. This position has a steady pipeline of diverse projects to engineer and balances contractual obligations with sound engineering practices while maintaining compliance with applicable codes.

Essential Functions

  • Design and engineer permit/construction plans for photovoltaic systems and/or ESS and/or energy demand performance and/or solar PV retrofit using knowledge of electrical engineering, solar photovoltaic system design, ESS design and target market operational equipment (i.e. HVAC, process cooling/heating) along with industry best practices.
  • Develops construction documents based on customer requirements, sound engineering decision making, and applicable NEC and CEC code sections.
  • Responds to comments issued by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) during permit review process in accordance with company SOP's, with the intent of expedient issuance of building permits.
  • Provides support of field installation personnel by promptly answering all Requests for Information (RFI) in accordance with company SOP's.
  • Perform site walks to investigate existing electrical infrastructure (utility transformers, client switch gear), client loads (i.e. pumps, etc.) and existing PV or ESS system details.
  • Assures product quality by reviewing testing data provided by internal field personnel and 3rd party testing agencies.
  • Provides engineering guidance to the company at large by answering questions and performing internal training upon request.
  • Support all other departments on any and all engineering questions and solving any related problems that arise before, during, and after construction.
  • Provides technical review of submitted system components and ancillary devices for compliance with design specifications.
