Job Description

Position Overview

The Knights of Columbus is a tax‐exempt Catholic fraternal benefit society dedicated to providing financial security to members and their families and supporting charitable causes. Our mission of faith and service is reflected not only in our products – including life, long‐term care, disability income insurance, investments and annuities – but also in our commitment to donate profits to help those in need. We foster a purpose‐driven community where employees, regardless of faith, work together to support our two million members in their parishes and communities around the world.

In this role, you will respond to a wide range of phone and email inquiries in Spanish or French, providing detailed information about our insurance and annuity product offerings as well as guidelines related to our fraternal organization. You will use our online systems to research and secure the necessary information to deliver accurate responses, while maintaining a professional, courteous, and positive image at all times. Compensation: A wage range of $41,000 – $63,500 based on experience, location, and bilingual proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage callers by asking probing questions to determine the nature of each inquiry and analyze the issues of concern.
  • Utilize the KofC online systems to locate and secure the information necessary to respond accurately to inquiries regarding insurance, annuity products, and fraternal organization guidelines.
  • Respond to both general and detailed questions from policyholders and field force regarding topics such as life insurance, ownership rights, taxation, and annuity settlement options.
  • Follow established procedures for the release of specific policyholder information and forward standard or special action requests to the appropriate department.
  • Review and analyze email inquiries, providing responses or directing them to the proper department, while acting as a liaison between the website and internal teams.
  • Translate communications for other business areas when necessary if bilingual in Spanish/English or French/English.
  • Stay current with organizational developments by routinely reading departmental communications, product updates, and other internal tools.
  • Perform additional customer service duties as requested by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in providing outstanding customer service by showcasing expertise, fostering trust, and growing customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen actively, demonstrate empathy, and maintain a professional tone in conversations.
  • Strong written communication skills coupled with solid computer and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume call center environment, with willingness to learn new skills and adapt quickly to changes.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French Canadian or Spanish is required. Salary: commensurates with bilingual proficiency.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or currently pursuing higher education is preferred.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

  • Time Away: 13 paid holidays per year in addition to vacation and paid sick leave, along with flexible workweek schedules.
