As the Software QA Engineer reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will ensure the quality of our software products through both manual and automated testing. This hybrid role, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, offers rich opportunities for on‐the‐job learning, coaching, and career growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual and automated testing to ensure software meets quality standards.
  • Review user stories and technical specifications to develop test plans with R&D and product marketing.
  • Continuously improve testing methodologies and tools.
  • Test software integration with hardware products.
  • Document and report software issues, testing procedures, and best practices.
  • Assist in the release process, including release notes and instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, marketing, sales, and customers to resolve functional issues.
  • Provide third-line support, troubleshooting bugs with Application and Software Engineers.
  • Manage alpha & beta testing programs, working directly with customers.
  • Participate in agile/scrum teams, offering feedback on software design and timelines.
  • Contribute to the knowledge database and enforce optimized processes and procedures.
  • Advocate for software quality as a top priority.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in MS Windows operating systems and desktop applications; familiarity with Mac OS is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • 2 years of hands-on experience with both manual and automation testing (e.g., TestComplete).
  • Proficient in Jira for issue tracking and project management.
  • Experience working in agile/scrum teams.
