Position Overview
Join a talented team of experienced R&D Engineers at CONMED as a Mechanical Engineer II R&D. In this role you will apply intensive and diversified engineering knowledge to a broad range of design assignments, working independently under the guidance of an engineering manager. Creativity, initiative, and a deep understanding of mechanical design principles are strongly encouraged.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrated mechanical design experience (CAD, tolerance stack ups, GD&T).
- Plan, conduct, and supervise engineering assignments, managing multiple smaller projects or one major project.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams while working with minimal supervision.
- Write and advise on testing requirements.
- Create and check design specifications.
- Conduct root-cause investigations and recommend corrective actions for design issues in existing products.
- Effectively communicate project information to superiors.
- Schedule work to meet completion dates and technical specifications.
- Develop engineering specifications based on voice of the customer input.
- Acknowledge team members’ contributions and motivate the team for efficient collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2 years of experience in R&D engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior medical device experience.
- Additional experience in mechanical design (CAD, tolerance stack ups, GD&T).
