Position Overview
Rivers Agile is a deep tech consulting firm specializing in custom solutions across various industries. Founded in 2008 as a quality assurance consultancy, we have expanded our expertise to include autonomous solutions, Agentive AI, and XR research. Our strong foundation ensures efficient and agile software development aligned to business goals. In this role, you will join as an experienced robotics engineer to design and implement standards for machine learning in the robotics industry. This is a hybrid position based at our North Hills, Pittsburgh, PA headquarters with regular visits to the client location in Homestead and remote work flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement standards for machine learning applied in robotics.
- Break down, define, estimate, design, and complete technical tasks with minimal oversight.
- Deliver quality software solutions that align with client and business objectives.
- Participate in company initiatives including recruiting, training, and team building.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in software development.
- Proficient with one or more modern programming languages (C++, C#, Node.js, TypeScript, Python, Java, etc.).
- Strong experience in developing for robotics and control systems (e.g., motion control, navigation, path planning).
- Experience with sensor integration (e.g., GPS, IMU, LiDAR, cameras, encoders and other I/O) and localization techniques such as SLAM.
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo, Omniverse), CI/CD pipelines, and test automation (unit and integration tests).
- Experience with cloud infrastructure in AWS and/or Azure, and familiarity with Terraform and Docker.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

- Prior experience with machine learning in the robotics domain.
