Position Overview

In this environment of innovation and compassion, the Data Science Analyst II plays a hands‐on role in the Office of Enterprise Data (OED), working under the direction of the Director of Analytics. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders across the organization to develop sophisticated analytics and Business Intelligence solutions that drive strategic planning, decision-making, goal setting, and effective performance measurement – all in support of CHLA’s mission to create hope and build healthier futures.
Salary: $84,302.00 - $144,518.00
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to develop sophisticated analytics and BI solutions.
- Support strategic planning, decision-making, goal setting, and performance measurement.
- Utilize advanced data manipulation techniques including BI development and machine learning.
- Apply deep understanding of healthcare data—from clinical and EHR datasets to claims and unstructured data—to drive actionable insights.
Required Qualifications
- Experience Required: 5 years of experience in healthcare, including familiarity with hospital systems, diverse healthcare data sets (claims, EHR, clinical data, structured and unstructured data), analytics, data management, and data visualization.
- Proven advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in data preparation using scripting languages such as Oracle PL/SQL, MS SQL, R, or Python.
- Expertise in BI development using tools like Tableau and/or PowerBI.
- Familiarity with data analytics platforms, including Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Fabric, Oracle DB, and SQL Server.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage diverse stakeholders.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the proven ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), including the ability to create charts and graphs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a relevant field (Public Health, Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or Information Systems) or a HS Diploma/GED with 8 years of direct experience.
- Qualifications: Master’s degree in a relevant field (Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, MBA, Computer Science, MPH, etc.) is preferred.
