We are currently seeking a dynamic, driven, and energetic Territory Sales Representative (TSR) in the San Jose, CA area. In this role, you will report directly to the Zone Sales Manager and play a key part in driving sales growth, increasing market presence, and building lasting relationships with independent distributors and retail partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain proactive, professional relationships with Retail Trade and Independent Distributors, acting as the key liaison between the Zone Sales Manager and distributors.
  • Reinforce with retail store managers and decision makers that Utz supports independent distributors and values their partnership.
  • Maintain regular contact with retail chains through frequent visits to support service levels and market presence.
  • Provide industry insights on new product sales, display execution opportunities, and retail feedback to help distributors optimize their performance.
  • Communicate the company’s sales, service, and merchandising strategies while respecting the independent nature of distributor operations.
  • Occasionally run an open route as required.
  • Support the Zone Sales Manager in workshop meetings to enhance distributor operational expertise and encourage tool utilization for sales growth.
  • Conduct full-day route ride-a-longs at the request of Independent Distributors to optimize routes and share skills.
  • Act as the liaison between Independent Operators and the Company Settlement Department to resolve settlement statement issues.
  • Perform resets as directed by the Zone Sales Manager when external support is not available.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years experience in sales operations, preferably in the snack, grocery, or beverage industry. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of Independent Distribution models is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and rapport using ethical selling and negotiation skills.
  • Proactive verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to lift, push, transport, and pull products weighing 40lbs or over.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain DOT certification.
  • Must be able to legally and safely operate a motor vehicle.
