Position Overview
The University of Colorado (CU) is seeking a mission-centric, skilled, and collaborative executive for the role of Vice President / Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO). As part of the President’s executive team and reporting to the Senior Vice President of Internal Operations and Chief of Staff, the CHRO will shape and execute an integrated people and culture strategy across CU’s four campuses, ensuring that HR strategies are aligned with the unique needs of each campus and campus system. This pivotal role involves driving initiatives that create an inclusive, empowered, and valued workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement System Administration’s strategies including compensation, advancement opportunities, and workplace culture initiatives.
- Oversee HR initiatives such as training programs, employee surveys, and organizational development strategies.
- Collaborate with campus and system leaders to ensure alignment of HR strategies while maintaining entity-specific needs.
- Lead and manage a team of approximately 130 employees, ensuring efficient personnel and financial operations.
- Drive change and innovation within HR practices to support CU’s mission and strategic objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience in business administration, human resources, law, public administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a leadership role, including directing a major business function and implementing strategic initiatives.
- Proven track record in managing personnel, finances, and executing comprehensive HR strategies.
