Job Description

Position Overview

As one of the region's most respected accounting firms, Lumsden McCormick provides a comprehensive menu of services to diverse clients throughout New York State and beyond. The Staff Accountant will develop and apply accounting, auditing, and tax principles while growing technical expertise in a collaborative and supportive work environment. Compensation: $64,000/year and work location is based at the Buffalo Office or offered in a Hybrid (Combo Office/Remote) arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various accounting, auditing, and tax practices to ensure accurate, reliable data and high-quality service deliverables.
  • Seek out opportunities to enhance industry and technical expertise through training events, presentations, and professional reading.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in an accredited 150-hour Accounting Degree Program, MS in Accounting, or MBA with a concentration in Accounting.
  • Must meet the NYS 150-hour education requirement for CPA upon degree conferral and/or before full-time hire.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and strong organization skills.
  • Ability to travel to client locations, primarily for Western New York clients.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.
