Job Description

Position Overview

This contract position provides technical mechanical CAD and drawing support to new product development and standard product support of engineering activities, including engineering drafting practices, CAD assembly setup, and document control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical mechanical CAD and drawing support for new product development.
  • Support standard product engineering activities and ensure proper document control.
  • Implement engineering drafting practices and set up CAD assemblies.

Required Qualifications

  • Mechanical drafting, design and engineering technology two-year technical degree or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in a drafting or CAD modeling position, primarily using SolidWorks.
  • Experience designing for high volume production.
  • Excellent SolidWorks knowledge and skills; SolidWorks Certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the SolidWorks PDM system.
  • Working knowledge of CREO and Windchill is a plus.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design drafting practices with compliance to ASME Standard Y14.5 – 2009 and relevant GD&T standards.
  • Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to perform mechanical engineering calculations is a plus.
  • Experience in design for plastic injection molding, 3D printing, and sheet metal fabrication is a plus.
