General Construction Project Manager

Project Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Project Manager – Construction & Infrastructure to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex construction projects across a diverse portfolio. In this role, you will oversee all phases of project delivery—from pre-construction through closeout—ensuring alignment with contractual requirements, budget targets, and schedule commitments while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing project performance, financial controls, and stakeholder coordination while driving efficient execution and mitigating risk. This includes working closely with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless communication, proactive problem-solving, and successful project outcomes.
This position requires a proactive leader who can navigate complex construction environments, lead cross-functional teams, and maintain strong client relationships. By effectively managing contracts, schedules, costs, and field coordination, this role will contribute to delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget while supporting long-term business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Client Relations
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and stakeholders, maintaining strong professional relationships
- Lead and mentor project staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
- Foster a collaborative, safe, and solutions-oriented project environment
- Proactively communicate project status, risks, and solutions to stakeholders
Contract & Risk Management
- Interpret and manage contract documents, plans, and specifications to mitigate risk
- Oversee subcontractor buyout, ensuring complete scopes, executed contracts, and alignment with project goals
- Manage change orders, including scope definition, pricing, and schedule impacts
- Ensure timely issuance of RFIs and resolution of technical issues
Financial Management & Project Controls
- Monitor job costs, forecasts, and cost-to-complete projections
- Identify financial risks and opportunities to support margin performance
- Manage owner pay applications, subcontractor payments, and financial documentation
- Ensure accurate and timely cost reporting
Project Administration & Documentation
- Maintain all project documentation including submittals, RFIs, reports, contracts, and correspondence
- Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory documentation requirements
- Support project closeout, including as-builts, warranties, and turnover documentation
- Document coordination meetings and key project communications
Procurement & Field Coordination
- Coordinate procurement of materials, long-lead items, and subcontractor scopes
- Work closely with Superintendents and field teams to support daily operations
- Conduct regular site walks to ensure alignment between field execution and project plans
- Ensure field teams have necessary resources to maintain productivity
Reporting & Project Oversight
- Prepare and submit project reports accurately and on time
- Communicate schedule delays, cost impacts, and contractual issues proactively
- Provide recommendations and supporting documentation to stakeholders
Schedule Management
- Develop and maintain baseline project schedules
- Monitor progress and implement recovery strategies as needed
- Perform time impact analyses and adjust schedules accordingly
Technical Coordination
- Review drawings, specifications, and subcontracts to identify conflicts
- Support constructability reviews and design coordination
- Ensure alignment with QA/QC standards and project requirements
Corporate Leadership & Development
- Participate in professional development and company initiatives
- Contribute to strengthening client relationships and business growth
Qualifications:
- 4-year Engineering or Construction Management degree. Graduate degree preferred.
- Florida General Contractor’s License or PE License desired.
- 2+ years of hands-on Procore experience (3 – 5 years preferred)
- Working Knowledge of HCSS (Heavy Job) preferred.
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6 Scheduling Software preferred.
- 6+ years experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance and management of at least $5 million.
- Good interpersonal relationship & strong communication skills.
- Delegation of duties and follow up.
- Able to initiate and maintain positive internal and external public relations.
- Ability to check quality, correctness and supervise field work - all disciplines.
- Able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
Pay:
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
