Job Description
The Industrial Engineer will lead initiatives to optimize manufacturing and assembly processes through VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering), work measurement standards, and process improvements. This role focuses on reducing cost, improving functionality, and enhancing product value while ensuring ergonomic, safe, and efficient operations. The engineer will utilize motion study methodologies and line balancing tools to create stable operations and balanced work content across mixed-model lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive VA/VE initiatives to reduce cost and improve product functionality.
- Develop and maintain work measurement standards for manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to implement lead process improvements, facility transformation, and technology transfer projects.
- Validate layouts for ergonomics, safety, and operational effectiveness.
- Deploy client tools, methodologies, and best practices for process.
- Use Standards Pro and LeanLine software for motion standards and line documentation processes and implement procedures for continuous improvement.
Work Schedule:
Engineers are expected to work on-site 4 days per week.
Standard workdays: 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday–Thursday.
On occasion, engineers may need to work Fridays and Saturdays to support major project initiatives.
Position Duration:
This is a mid-term position requiring significant training hence engineers must commit to a minimum of 6 months to ensure continuity and effectiveness.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- MOST Certification: (mandatory) with documented experience using MOST to proficiency in Standards Pro and LeanLine or similar motion and line balancing tools.
- Strong knowledge of work measurement techniques and industrial engineering experience in VA/VE initiatives, cost reduction, and process optimization.
- Familiarity with ergonomics, safety standards, and lean manufacturing practices.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage facility transformation projects.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
