Job Description

Position Overview

The Electrical Engineering Professional Senior role is for a seasoned Electrical Engineer responsible for overseeing the engineering and design of medium and low voltage power distribution systems – including UPS/Generators, Lighting, Grounding, Fire Alarm, Security, Public Address (PA), Telecomm and Heat Trace systems. In this position you will prepare technical specifications and construction documents, lead the Electrical discipline, and act as a Quality Control reviewer in project meetings. PE strongly desired or ability to obtain within a year. The interview process begins with an initial Teams interview with an in-person follow-up if necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering and design oversight for medium and low voltage power distribution, UPS/Generators, Lighting, Grounding, Fire Alarm, Security, Public Address (PA), Telecomm and Heat Trace systems.
  • Evaluate system goals and develop, design, or select the required equipment or power/controls to achieve those goals.
  • Perform calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for industrial applications.
  • Direct construction, installation, and operational testing to ensure conformance with functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with project team members and customers.
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks.
  • Prepare technical specifications and documents for bidding and construction, and serve as the Electrical discipline lead or Quality Control reviewer during project meetings.
  • Participate in project proposals and suggest innovative solutions for clients.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer license in IN or ability to obtain.
  • At least 15 years of experience in electrical engineering design of buildings.
  • Solid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC).
  • Ability to perform power system studies including short circuit, load flow, protective coordination, and arc flash.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to guide less experienced staff members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a creative approach to challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in electrical design for Life Science and/or advanced manufacturing facilities.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software.
  • Familiarity with power system studies software (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower).
  • Forward-thinking with eagerness to learn best practices and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and expand technical knowledge.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • A genuine passion for buildings and construction.
