Spring 2026 Geotechnical Engineering Intern

Position Overview

At Call & Nicholas, an internationally recognized geotechnical engineering firm based in Tucson, AZ and 100% employee owned, we provide consulting services to clients in the mining industry. We are seeking a geotechnical/geological engineering intern to join our consulting group in Tucson, AZ. The role involves both office work and local field work, which includes data reduction, technical reporting, laboratory testing, site characterization, and geologic/geotechnical mapping. This is a part-time opportunity (not to exceed 30 hours per week) during normal business hours. Applicants must be local to the Tucson area.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform data reduction including stereographic, statistical, and geospatial analyses
• Prepare technical reports and document field work and analytical findings
• Conduct laboratory testing and assist with soil and rock strength evaluations
• Execute site characterization, geologic/geotechnical mapping, and geomechanical core logging

Required Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in geology, geological engineering, geotechnical engineering, or mining engineering
• 0-5 years of relevant experience
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
