We are seeking an Electronics Engineering Technician for our Rochester Hills, Michigan headquarters. This is a full-time position with an immediate need for a candidate who meets the requirements below.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate system-level schematics or block diagrams into wire harness assembly designs and drawings
  • Fabricate and document prototype wire harness assemblies based on drawings and satisfy all acceptance criteria
  • Design, document, and manage testing harnesses for end-of-line testing of wire harness assemblies
  • Ensure all documentation is in the proper format and stored in the location identified by the Technical Lead Systems Engineer
  • Participate in the design review process
  • Specify and verify production tooling necessary for wire harness assembly components
  • Perform wire harness assembly revisions based on notes, sketches, or markups
  • Document, implement, and maintain methods, operation sequences, and processes in the manufacture of the final product
  • Assemble, test, and maintain circuitry or electronic components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and end-of-line testing standards
  • Adjust and replace defective circuitry and electronic components
  • Create a BOM (Bill of Materials) that inventories raw materials, assemblies, subassemblies, parts, and components needed to manufacture the product
  • Train new assembly technicians
  • Review and demonstrate understanding of the acceptance criteria for wiring harnesses (IPC-WHMA-A-620A) and electronic assemblies (IPC-A-610)

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle electronics and architecture
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Certificate in Engineering Electronics or a related field
  • 5 years of experience with wire harness assembly, schematics, design, and testing
