Position Overview

Our client, a renowned architecture firm, is seeking a highly talented and creative Senior Architectural Designer to contribute to significant projects in Minneapolis, Minnesota, US. This role demands a strong design sensibility, excellent technical skills, and the ability to lead design development from concept through construction documentation. You will work closely with clients, project managers, and other team members to bring innovative architectural visions to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design process for various architectural projects from conceptualization to final construction documents.
  • Develop detailed architectural drawings, renderings, and presentations for client reviews and approvals.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their vision, requirements, and budget constraints.
  • Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure design integrity and constructability.
  • Oversee the creation of construction documents including specifications and detailed drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and accessibility standards.
  • Mentor and guide junior designers, fostering their professional development.
  • Conduct site visits and feasibility studies as required.
  • Stay abreast of emerging architectural trends, materials, and technologies.
  • Manage project design timelines and contribute to overall project management efforts.
  • Contribute to firm-wide design standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Professional Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in architectural design with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse project types.
  • Licensed Architect (RA) or eligibility to obtain licensure in Minnesota is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in architectural design software including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and rendering software (e.g., V-Ray, Lumion).
  • Strong understanding of building materials, construction methods, and building systems.
  • Excellent conceptual design skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven ability to lead design teams and manage client relationships.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design principles and practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
